Courses are designed by our employees and certified through strict calibration practices and procedures, to combine accuracy and safety through all courses. These courses cover common practices, proper measurement procedures, and detailed operations for more experienced users. Digital versions of the tool are available for visual reference, but it is recommended to have the tool or gage available during the course.

Prerequisites:
Mitutoyo recommends users are fluent with Coordinate Measuring Machines and their operations. To better prepare for this course, it is suggested users enroll in the following courses:

STC-100-10 – MCOSMOS V5 -C1 eLearning
STC-101 – MCOSMOS-M1 eLearning
STC-102 – Fixture Builder
STC-110 – MiCAT Planner Basic Training

Course Materials:
In this eLearning Course, Mitutoyo end users will be introduced to the updates in GearPAK Express – Version 1.4! Learn about the basic functionality of the GearPAK Express, and how it can help elevate your measurement procedures. A general software overview is highlighted in this training, starting with interface layout – all the way to creating part programs. New users can learn how to set up and execute gear inspection programs, while experienced users can add to their expertise when utilizing this powerful software.

The following topics are covered in this course:
1) Software Overview
Users will be introduced to the GearPAK Express module of MCOSMOS. Walk through the various menus that you will interact with in order to build your gear inspection programs, from learning about the ribbon menus to understanding the measuring procedure. A video highlighting each section will explain the various controls and capabilities of the software.

2) Task 1
This section covers the basic setup parameters for the gear you wish to measure. From inputting nominal and evaluation ranges, to tip, root, and end reliefs, users will learn how to prepare for building a part program.

3) Task 2
This step takes users to the next phase of the gear inspection procedure. This section will allow users to define various measurement conditions such as Flank Measurements, Diameter Measurements, Twists, etc… Once the setup parameters for the gear in question have been established, the course will show users how to prepare a coordinate system for the measurement of the gear, how to define the measurement parameters and conditions, as well as tolerancing the various measurements.

4) Translating to GeoPAK
After completing the preliminary steps of measuring the gear, users will see how simple it is to translate the measurement plans from GearPAK Express to GeoPAK!

5) Task 3
The final step in the GearPAK Express module is managing the reporting settings and executing the program. Users can navigate the setup program menu to change any report settings, before learning how to execute the measurement procedure.

A certificate of completion will be awarded to the end-user for finishing the course.
