Thread Snap Gages & Thread Micrometers
Also known as thread calipers, thread snap gages are typically available in either a roller style or knife edge style. They are used to check external threaded parts and are also ideal for gauging components that are produced in high volumes, for they have the ability to check parts faster than conventional GO/NOGO ring gages. Thread micrometers work just like an ordinary micrometer. However, they are equipped with a special spindle and anvil. The anvil has an internal ‘vee’ that is fitted over the thread.
