This high-speed edge-defect sensor is optimized for continuous production-line monitoring. It illuminates the target with microsecond flashes, captures defect-scattered light, classifies the defect by its light scattering signature, and generates a process control trigger in real time.

Each measurement shot covers 2.5mm x 2.5mm area at 10Î¼m resolution, at up to 1500 shots per second (shot frequency and FOV configurable). This is equivalent to 3m/s product-movement with ~10% overlap of adjacent shots. The sensitivity on the smallest defect can be less than the pixel resolution depending on the light-scattering properties of the defect and illumination conditions.
