Mitutoyo Shaft Measuring Unit- Diameter, TIR, Length, Straightness

Measure  component characteristics TIR, length, diameter and straigthness can be measured using an individual combination of indicator, probe and Laser Scan Micrometer (LSM) and evaluated with Measurelink.  MeasurLink, allows setting indicator presets and zero multiple gages with a single button press.

The components that I’m using are a combination of:

  • Komeg Shaft Measuring Kit
  • Indicators and associated cables
  • MeasurLink Real-Time Standard
  • (optional) Linear Gages with EJ Counter and USB module
  • optional laser micromter

add an indicator at the end of the part to measure length.

Straightness could  be measured as well if the part or gage were to slide.

With a high accuracy indicator, you can get 0.0001”. Replacing indicators with linear gages and laser micrometer can improve the accuracy quite a bit.

Mitutoyo ID-C and ID-F Electronic Indicators

Mitutoyo ID-C and ID-F Electronic Indicators. The ID-F have illuminated backlighting.  The ID-C/ID-F units are Mitutoyo’s first measuring tools to support bidirectional serial communication.* They can be easily connected and linked with a PC via a USB input tool, etc., and in addition to conventional measurement data collection, they also enable control and setting of the ID-C/ID-F units, collection of gauge information, and other operations to be performed in batch from the PC. Fowler High Precision Bowers Intext Gage ID and OD Measurement

Intex Gauge Developed to measure both internal and external diameters and lengths, the gauge’s aluminium extrusion beam gives it a rigid, yet lightweight quality – making it ideal for shop-floor environments. The simple release of a locking thumb screw enables the gauge’s measuring direction to be changed easily and quickly. The four gauges in the Intex range have been designed to measure components from 200mm up to 1m long; however extended lengths are available on request.
